Retail Interior Design Project – Qlock Two, Dubai

Location

Goshi warehouse city, al quoz

Client

Qlock Two has crafted handmade timepieces in Germany since 2009 precision-built wall clocks known for a distinctive design language that has drawn collaborations with brands like BMW. Zolo Interiors was brought in to design the brand’s Dubai showroom, translating that same German precision and craftsmanship into a physical retail space.

A Brand Worth Designing Around

Qlock Two isn’t a typical retail client. A brand built on handcrafted German engineering with a design identity distinctive enough to attract a collaboration with BMW comes with an existing visual language that a showroom has to honor, not compete with. That made this project as much about restraint and precision as it was about creativity: every material and layout decision had to feel deliberate enough to match the exactness of the product itself.

The Challenge

Designing a showroom for a precision-engineered luxury product carries a distinct set of demands:

  • The product has to be the focal point. Qlock Two’s timepieces are intricate, design-forward objects the showroom needed display and lighting that let each piece be genuinely appreciated up close, not lost in a generic retail layout.
  • Craftsmanship needed to be felt in the space, not just the product. A brand built on precision manufacturing loses credibility fast in a showroom that feels generic or mass-produced material choices had to reflect the same level of intention as the product itself.
  • Balancing heritage with modernity. As a German brand with a strong design pedigree, the space needed to feel premium and considered without leaning on cliché “luxury retail” tropes.
  • Security and display for high-value pieces. Handcrafted, collectible timepieces require thoughtful display solutions that protect the product while keeping it fully visible and accessible to serious buyers.

Our Approach

Zolo’s team approached Qlock Two with the same precision the brand is known for letting the product lead every material and lighting decision.

Display designed for close inspection. Fixtures and layout were planned to let customers genuinely examine each piece’s craftsmanship, with lighting calibrated to bring out the detail and mechanism work that defines the product.

A restrained, precision-led material palette. Rather than defaulting to typical luxury retail cues (heavy ornamentation, gold accents), finishes were chosen for the same clean, engineered feel as Qlock Two’s own design language letting the product remain the visual focus throughout.

Spatial rhythm that mirrors the brand’s design philosophy. Layout and spacing were treated with the same intentionality as the clocks themselves deliberate, considered, and free of visual clutter.

Secure, accessible display solutions. Display fixtures were selected to protect high-value pieces without placing barriers between the product and the customer experience.

The Result

The Qlock Two showroom in Al Quoz now gives the brand’s German craftsmanship a Dubai home worthy of it, a space precise enough to match the product, and distinctive enough to reflect a brand with a genuine design pedigree.
